Welcome to the British and Irish Physics Societies
The British and Irish Physics Societies (BIPS) is a coalition of student-led academic groups representing the brightest undergraduate physicists spanning across the UK and Ireland.
Our flagship initiative is the QUIRK+ Conference, an annual collaborative event designed to provide students with a premier platform to showcase their research, explore emerging areas of physics, and bridge the gap between university studies and professional careers.
We offer a free, entry-level environment for undergraduates and masters' students to present their work on a national stage, network with peers, and gain invaluable early-career experience with leading industry and academic partners.
The Microsoft CMT service was used for managing the peer-reviewing process for this conference. This service was provided for free by Microsoft and they bore all expenses, including costs for Azure cloud services as well as for software development and support.
Conference Highlights
- 2 Days across two distinct UK locations.
- 20+ Partner Universities including international observers.
- 700+ Attendees comprising students, researchers, and industry professionals.
