Call for Speakers
At the heart of the QUIRK+ Conference is a commitment to fostering the next generation of scientific communicators. We provide a nationally-renowned stage for young physicists to share their passion, present their research and spark discourse among hundreds of their peers.
Unlike traditional academic conferences that restrict podium time to senior academics, BIPS proudly welcomes a diverse range of speakers from across the academic spectrum. Whether you are an ambitious undergraduate presenting your very first final-year research project, or a doctoral candidate showcasing cutting-edge advancements in your specific field, we want to hear from you.
The Selection Process
To ensure a high-calibre and widely representative programme, our speaker selection process is rigorously democratic and peer-led.
All submitted abstracts are reviewed and selected by an academic panel comprised of student committee representatives from our partner universities across the UK and Ireland. This collaborative approach guarantees that the topics chosen directly reflect the most engaging, relevant, and innovative areas of physics and engineering that students actually want to learn about.
We welcome submissions from all fields of physics and engineering, from astrophysics and quantum computing to medical physics, theoretical frameworks and aerospace. We look for clarity, passion, and the ability to communicate complex ideas to a broad physics audience.
